AI Usage
Generating dashboards and AI summaries draws on your space's AI budget. See what is left, who spent what, when it resets, and how this differs from Agent Tokens and API Tokens.
What is the AI budget?
The AI budget is what your space can spend on AI features inside Indicate, for example, generating a dashboard or writing an AI summary.
The budget is currently free. Until 1 October 2026 every space on Core and above carries an AI allowance of $5 per month as part of a promotion, so you can use the AI features within your AI budget without being charged.
From 1 October 2026 the AI usage has to be paid. The promotion ends on that date, and AI usage inside Indicate is charged from then on.
Note: While the promotion runs, Indicate may expand or withdraw the AI allowance of any space at any time. If your space needs a higher limit, create a request in the help center.
Which limits apply?

The personal ceiling exists so that one person who belongs to several spaces cannot work through one space allowance after the other.
Note: Neither budget is cumulative. What you do not spend in a period is gone when the period resets, it does not carry over into the next one.
What counts against the AI budget?
Only AI that runs inside Indicate. Today that is:
Generate dashboard, when you describe a dashboard within Indicate and let the AI build it.
Summarize dashboard, when the AI writes or regenerates the summary of a dashboard within Indciate.
Every one of these calls appears in the usage log with its own cost.
How is this different from Agent Tokens and API Tokens?
This is the most common mix up, because all three involve AI and tokens. They are separate things with separate limits.

The short version: the AI budget pays for AI you use in Indicate. Agent Tokens let your own AI tools reach into Indicate, and what you spend there runs against the limits of that token, not against the AI budget on this page.

Where do I find my AI usage?
Go to Settings → Usage. The page shows what the space has spent on AI this period, and every call behind it. The same figures and their reset dates are on the usage gauge, so you can check without opening Settings.
At the top, the AI budget block shows:

Under the block you also see since when the current period runs and when the figures were last checked. Click Refresh in the top right corner to pull the current numbers without leaving the page.
What does the usage log show?
Below the budget block, the Usage log lists every AI call made in this space, newest first. Each row shows:
Time of the call
User who triggered it, with name and email
Use case, for example
Generate dashboardorSummarize dashboardModel that answered the call
Tokens the call consumed
Cost of the call
Note: The log shows that a call happened and what it cost, never what anyone typed. Prompt content is not logged.
What happens when a limit is reached?
The call is refused and you are told which of the two limits was reached and when it comes back. So if your personal ceiling is used up, you are not told that the space is out, and the other way round.
You have two options:
Wait for the reset. The message names the date, and both reset dates are shown on the usage gauge and the Usage page.
Ask for a higher limit. Create a request in the help center and describe what your space needs.
Troubleshooting
I can no longer generate dashboards or summaries.
Read which limit the message names. If it is the space allowance, everyone in the space is affected until the space's period resets. If it is your personal ceiling, your colleagues can still work and yours returns at the start of the next calendar month.
Colleagues can still use AI but I cannot.
You have reached your personal ceiling of $10 for this calendar month, across all the spaces you belong to. It resets with the new calendar month.
My space allowance did not reset at the start of the month.
It is not tied to the calendar. The space's period runs on its own billing cycle, counted from the day the space was created. The Resets field on the Usage page shows the exact date.
A teammate used up the budget.
The space allowance belongs to the space, not to a person. The usage log shows who made which call, so you can see where it went and agree inside the team how to use it.
The figures look out of date.
The page shows when it last checked, for example
Checked 11m ago. Click Refresh for the current numbers.
My Claude or ChatGPT queries do not appear in the log.
They do not run on the AI budget. External tools reach Indicate through Agent Tokens, which have their own limits. See Tokens.
I want to know what a dashboard generation costs before I run it.
Look at comparable rows in the usage log. Each row shows tokens and cost for that use case, which gives you a realistic estimate.
