Resi is the AI agent inside Indicate. She answers questions about your data in plain words, with the numbers and charts behind the answer, built from your connected Insights. She also builds dashboards from a description and changes widgets on request, see Create a dashboard and Edit a widget with AI. This article is about the chat.
Every member of the space can chat, whatever their role.
Resi reads the Insights of the space, the same metrics your widgets use. She does not read raw tables unless an admin allowed warehouse access, see AI agents.
Every question costs a share of the space's AI budget, see AI usage.
Resi can be wrong. Check anything important before you act on it.
Click the chat icon in the left rail, the sparkles above the Analytics icon. Or click Ask Resi on the Home page.
The page Ask Resi opens with suggested questions under Try asking, grouped by My hotel, Guests & bookings, Online marketing, and Prices & revenue. Click one, or type your own question into Your question.
Press Enter to send. Shift + Enter makes a new line.
Resi answers with a short text, the figures she used, and a chart where it helps. Below the answer she names the model she wrote it with.
The sidebar lists your chats under Today, Yesterday, Previous 7 days, Previous 30 days, and Older. Click New chat to start another one. The switch Analytics / Chat at the top of the sidebar takes you back to your dashboards.
By default Resi picks the Insights that fit the question. Two ways to narrow her down:
Add sources: click it below the question box and tick the Insights the chat is about. Picked sources stay picked for the whole chat. In a space with many Insights you have to pick, the dialog says so.
Chat about a dashboard: click it to pick one dashboard. The answers then draw on that dashboard's widgets. The dashboard stays with the chat and cannot be changed once the chat has started. On the chat page a switch shows either the Chat or the Dashboard.
Tip: The more specific the question, the better the answer. Name the period, "last week" or "July", and the number you care about, "occupancy", "ADR", "revenue by channel".
The two chips below the question box show the model and the effort Resi uses. Click the model chip to pick another one. Models not available in your space are greyed out. The default model for the space is set by an admin under Settings → AI agents.
A bigger model gives better answers on hard questions and costs more per call. The usage log under Settings → AI usage shows what each chat cost.
Hover over the chat in the sidebar and click the ⋮ icon, or click Chat actions at the top of an open chat.
Rename: give the chat a title of your own. Resi names new chats after the first question.
Delete: removes the chat and its answers for good.
Chats are personal. Nobody else in the space sees your chats.
The AI budget is spent for now: the space's budget for this period is used up. Wait for the reset or ask for a higher limit, see AI usage.
This chat is still answering: wait for the answer before sending the next question.
Over the limit by N characters: shorten the question.
AI chat is not available right now: your plan does not include the AI features, or the service is down. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.
Click Add sources and pick the Insight the question is about. Name the period and the metric in the question.
Resi reads the metric as it is defined. If the number is off, check the metric first, see Metrics.
